Not decal horrors (yet), more of a load of work. I have just taken delivery of this lot. Enough for the Fibber and two other forum jobs. Now, where is Stevie Wonder ?....

Before, from the factory the decals on the tank only were lacquered over the top

When repainting the bike, do you apply the decals before or after lacquering? If you look back over some of my old thread's you will see how I do them. I spray through base coats for the colour, then laquer and let it dry. Then flat (rub) it all down very carefully with 1000 wet and dry (using soapy water) and scotchbrite. I position and mark the decals before applying them. I do this dry. Once the decals are all on I degrease again and spray the final laquer coats over the whole tank again. I often do the plastics the same way. It's not original to do this, but it gives a much more hard wearing finish. I think cost prevented this on production bikes. I will post this all again with more pictures when I do these sets.

If the dented tank tells a story, perhaps his vision was off due to a rather splendid smack in the gonads ?

If the dented tank tells a story, perhaps his vision was off due to a rather splendid smack in the gonads ? could certainly make him crosseyed on a slight aside, does anyone think that guests are coming onto the forum, looking at this thread and then thinking thats the way they're meant to fit?

Reminds me of the son of my boss at my first job...he smacked his Yamaha RD YPVS into the back of a Montego whilst being distracted, would of been early nineties. Took me to the insurance compound to show me the damage and the dent was deeper than that. To this day, I don't think he has had any offspring.

Not sure which is more painful, the decals or the damage inflicted physically.
