Just had a look and there is a cdi box there albeit an aftermarket one !! Looks like its been "custom wired" into the loom, lots of red bullet connectors !! I wonder if I could get hold of a OEM one and replace it ? Heres a picture Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk I'v just looked a bit more closely at this pic, is there by any chance a live wire into the cdi that switches on and off with the ignition? I'm just thinking that it could be an aftermarket DC cdi. it would surprise me if it could reach the required advance

I really don't know, after exploring around the wiring, I now have nothing when I switch on the ignition !!! Theres a black/white wire coming from the loom, near the cdi, that isn't connected to anything? V strange.

on the standard system that black and white wire is the engine kill (when its connected to ground the bike wont run) its also the only link between ignition system and the main wiring loom, the ignition part of the wiring is a stand alone system, so stator, cdi and HT coil all stand alone.
