What's the fuss over these new little Indian produced Triumphs? Is it just me that thinks they look totally cheap and nasty? Seeing some grown dare I say old men going gaga over them. I just don't get it. If you like them I don't mean to offend, it just means you see beauty in a different way to me.

Bike design lost its way long ago. I agree that these bikes are no oil painting to look at but there are far worse. I would be interested in having one as an all weather commuter if the reliablity gets proven longer term. You can't really go by the 'influencers' on social media who have their own interests at heart, not ours. If there's a local dealer nearby, go and try one for yourselves.

Only Triumphs manufactured in Meriden are “proper” Triumphs😬

Ouch. I’d stretch that slightly to say anything built or assembled in England up to 2006.
Kind of a modernized version if you like, with less bits falling off. 😳🤪

To be honest I don’t give a flying f##k where a bike was manufactured.”proper” Triumphs were good in the day and still look good, the Hurricane is the best looking motorcycle ever made 😎 So call me old fashioned then if you will but I have this romantic notion that any machine built or assembled with British hands and laying food on the table of a British family still meant something. I know with the advent of 'globalisation' this notion is very outdated. The labour of course has been cheaper in Asia for a very long time, and a guy works for peanuts.....certainly would not prize a British man out of bed for such a lowly wage in this day and age. Interesting timing of this discussion because as you know, I have bought and sold now 10 Hinckley assembled 2001 to 2006 Bonnevilles (one Thruxton sorry) during my time over here. And this very week I have picked up a 2007 which was one of the first to leave the Chonburi plant in Thailand. And I can hand on heart say the build quality is no different, save for a few areas of cheapening down of some of the hardware. It’s just that damn patriotic thing inside me that see's it as 'different'. I know. I have already put one coat on, I'll put another one over the top now...... P.S - yes that Hurricane is sex P.P.S - Thailand plant was set up and run by staff that were trained by the Hinckley people. It remains to be seen if this quality will extend to India with this Baja project, time will tell. Personally I'd rather put my money on a tried and tested older Honda CB500 in this bracket to do the same job and dare I say even look better, but only my opinion, take or leave.

That’s funny but no doubt down to poor maintenance by the ham fist owner brigade more than likely. (Picturing that old C90 with the carrier hanging off at a meet someone shared recently). 👍

All I'm hearing about on SM are problems with these bikes. 'Indian made, rushed to market' is the general consensus.
