needed to get on and do this job as I cant move in the house for motorbike parts (and theres more to come) so made some shelves out of some old timber that was left behind by the last tenant. the shelves themselves have so far cost me a fiver plus some screws as a really good guy at a local fencing supply firm gave me a load of off cuts that were going in the skip for free (got to love a freebie ) so the sheet material isnt too pretty but who cares? its strong enough and does the job. the door I made at least a year ago (and I'v been cursing it every time I tripped over it in the kitchen) and is now fitted, just needs a couple of coats of gloss come the one dry day a year we get in north west england, I'm thinking green, then it can be a fast door

That, dear Peter,is indeed an outside toilet. A Northern man's sanctuary.
I remember my Grandfather (a builder) having customers COMPLAINING that this newfangled idea of an INSIDE toilet was disgusting. Particularly after our Indian friends joined us, they may have had a point.

It does actually look like an old sh*thouse to be fair. My aunt had one looked like that.

and just because I mentioned the house move in this thread, I think I'v just managed to rent a garage just around the corner, so now I can get my bikes down here and store a bit of treasure/junk (depends on your perspective) in the garage. things are looking up so long as I dont get sacked this week at work

I love to see mancaves. its nowt much to write home about, problem is round here they are in mega short supply, I was really lucky to get it. in fact it was down to a stroke of luck, I called the number and asked how much the rent was and the lady I spoke to said £55 per week. so after I picked myself up off the floor I agreed to go see it. when she turned up, it turned out she manages the garages for her brother who lives in thailand and she'd been telling everyone £55 per week. when I got face to face with her she said she'd made a mistake and its actually £55 per month (much more like it) it just goes to show its always worth a proper look
