hello
after removing the carbs to give them a clean etc, i was reading the haynes manual, and it shows the air cut off valve assembly fitted on the side of each carb, but the manual states not on the 250n, however the carbs i have just removed, have them fitted...?
the only markings on the casings are " 30BAQEY"
thanks richard

That's strange Richard, I wonder if they have been retrofitted by someone??
As you say, the 250N ones they are blanked off. From memory those numbers are certainly 250N carbs being VB30. The 400N I believe are VB31.

The air cut off diaphragm is not fitted to 250 carbs, it is just a cover, if you remove it you should find nothing underneath 30BAQEY is the correct carb number 30B with an A in the square denotes earlier style later have B or C in square Graham
