Understanding a wiring diagram was never my strong-point. If there is anyone who can, here is the problem. After a full rebuild it all works except the high-low beam. Side lights, indicators, tail and brake light, horn, starter, all fine. Headlight bulb ok and it will flash from the overtaking button on the left cluster, just no power otherwise to the headlight. Tried a spare left side switch with the same result. Checked for power from the right side and it is getting through. These things are always a broken connection, I just need to know where to look. Any ideas from the boffins that can follow diagrams and lectric ?

me neither, it would be far simpler if they gave us a schematic, assuming theres continuity on the middle fuse, er I'm a bit stumped. long shot, have you tried changing that little black box diode/rectifier thingymajig? alternatively swear at it and have a beer

So both the 7amp circuits through the fuse box have good continuity? Tested at then back of the loom multi connector...

Thanks John. This is gold dust, but it takes time to just follow the path and find the bloody block.

Thanks John. This is gold dust, but it takes time to just follow the path and find the bloody block. It would be great to have it on the PC, with the different items on a choice of layers, to make it less cluttered. That would take a while to do though...

glad you got it sorted, i was a towbar fitter for several years and modified my multimeter leads [ made them a lot longer ] so i could easily check for live feeds/continuity, so in the case of a motorbike, its easy to check connections from the front to the rear, instead of fighting on with those poxy short leads... and no..never fitted a towbar to a motorbike
