I have been doing the last jobs on the "Goldblinger" superdream. Just got it all together and had a little ride up the road. Mrs Duffer was there in the drive when I got back and asked if there was anything wrong with it, I simply replied with the two words "fork oil". She congratulated me on a job well done and buggered off back in the house. But fork oil is a problem. As one of the last jobs, I added the correct measure of oil and now the forks seem solid. So any idea why ? Second problem I sorted prior to the ride out. I had fuel dripping from the right carb. Took a while to find it, so here it is. The piggin transfer tube rubber. First inspection, it looked ok Closer look, not great. Yup. it's forked Bit of a rummage around and we are back in business. Just need to know how to fix the forks now. Any ideas ?

Superdream forks are basic very bouncy things at the best of times, strip them buggers and check them out.
I suspect your already gearing up for the job anyway, you love it really 😄🍺

If every thing is in the right order, sounds like the bottom pipe bore is blocked somehow. I take it the M8 cap screws were the standard length ones? I always fill the stanchions with the springs in, they should not impede the oil, as it should just go down the bottom pipe bore and out the lower port hole, just above the alloy "oil lock" piece... Mystery! (The oil would trickle transit down, but it's not going work well if blocked). Shall be interesting, what you find.

could the damper holes be sludged up on one or both forks? I generally fill them off the bike as I strip them right down for a clean, when filled I then pump them a few times to get the oil going through nicely and to check for leaks

Right ! Bugger all choice but to take em out and see what's up. Re-building bikes is mostly un-building bikes, then doing it again... Ggrrr... Stripped, cleaned, but first drained...and I think I have found the problem. As they were quite good I only drained them when I dismantled the bike, BUT clearly not enough. This time I dismantled them, checked all the holes for gunge then re-built them and all is fine. There is now officially fork oil wrong with it
