Hello,
I just bought a 1984 CB400N and it has 2.15x18 Boomerang wheels. Both tyres are 25 years old and need to be replaced. At the moment 110/90 rear and 100/90 front. I can't find any info about the correct tyre sizes, any help?

I think cmsnl give the correct tyre sizes for your model, you'll probably have to cross reference those sizes with modern metric equivalents, plenty of free conversion charts online.
just as an addition, theres a few fans of the later boomerang wheels on here and we'd love to see a pic or two of your bike

I will use (am using statically) 90/90 18 front mostly, but 100/90 18 front on the 450dx (knowing that the muddy has plenty clearance as still the same one for the 19" original). I will use 110/80 x 18 on almost all M.T 2.15 rear rims.
90/90 x 18 under the red muddy (just clears enough to allow tyre growth) And some mucking about with the metzlers still fitted......
The load ratings are slightly lower than the original on the rear, but the imperial sizes on some brands seem a little big sometimes, to a alternative size spec perhaps. if going two up touring perhaps more scrutiny, but doubt I would be worried for what I would be doing...

Thanks very much, this is my first bike and the tyre size charts are very confusing...
Are there instructions somewhere on how to post photos here?

If on an iPhone or IPad make sure you click desk top mode first.

Above is the bike as I bought it. It came with all the original parts and no mods to the frame. Below is where I'm at now. Basically no rust on the frame and 31000km on it. Today I got some aftermarket mirrors (a matching pair) and installed those, also replaced rhe battery with a gel battery. Next week I will have a full new set of Emgo blinkers, since the ones I got are all broken.
