Took a trip up to spend an hour or so with the grand master fettler today. A gentleman very modest about his talents. I shall not divulge secrets of his stunning workshop facilities. Enough to say they entertain skills and ideas that baffled me. However. For your pleasure, here are a couple of pictures of God's own land in which Buster is lucky enough to thrash around in. Oh, and it seems its all for sale đź‘Ť Thanks again. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

no Cane Dingle over there, thats Lancashire its always good to have a bit of a get together with members on this forum and sir Duffer was very welcome, its a shame about that engine casing (some bodger been there before us with a helicoil ) but it was nice to see the stators check out ok. we also had an interesting natter about our work backgrounds this might shine a bit more light on mine. these machines are Swiss made (about ÂŁ25000 each) and are as complicated and delicate as they look

I'm not joking, that's the initial mechanism for the kettle. I wasn't going to show it, but... I considered myself a man of the world, but the stuff in there.. The IMPOSSIBLE to remove screws for the gear selector mechanism were off in the time it took me to go to the car. Kin DAYS I spent on the same job...

After finding a bodged helecoil after fixing my top casing, I dug out a buggered bottom end engine I had. It was bad luck yesterday, so a bit of good luck was due. I knew the bottom engine was toast as it had a wobbly big end, but... on inspection it was stamped CCC, exactly the same as the one buster and I tried to fix. So a crank swap was easy. Carry over the good crank and of course big ends, and away we go. Only one set of bearings needed to be changed as the crap crank was BBB, the good one is BCB. As ever , you always find previous crap work. When I took the bearings out of the case that should have been all black, the centre one had a black lower and a brown upper? God knows what the guy had fitted in the big end's. No wonder it broke. Anyway, decent crank fitted and checked with plastiguage. The bearings had almost no wear. All fine 🙂 Other horrors, a little bit of cut sheet steel floating about in the sump, blue sealer, a lump of fabric and the FUBAR big end bearings. All going back together nicely now. AND I will have a checked stator going in. Should be a nice little engine now. Also ( thanks to buster) a set of cylinders without those bloody oil channels. A good end to a very pleasant visit to God's own country. 👍

Think wood shed, tardis, bits of clever stuff, last of the summer wine, and his very own Nora Batty ! Oh, and two or three doors away from a lovely country pub.

I seem to think I flowed the exhaust ports on that one, better not paint it green, It'll frighten the next owner to death and talking of Nora Batty, she's got a pout on today because the pipe and pump for the borehole was changed and the engineer (and her husband come to that) wouldnt let her keep the rusty knackered steel pipes that came out of the ground...
