If it is just a chain renewal perhaps best check your sprocket width at the base of the teeth...
Original Standard Chain for a CB250NA was a 530*. Sprocket width at the base of the teeth about 9mm to match the 3/8" internal chain width.
I run a 520 chain on my bikes that have comstar , 520 chain was introduced on NB models onwards in the UK (but not in all other countries) the sprocket width at the base of the teeth is about 6mm to fit the 2/8" chain aperture.
The width of both types of sprockets is the same towards the centre at circa 9mm to suit the comstar rear hub fitting and the sprocket loading on the output shaft.
The original NA 530 was a conventional chain*, where I run 520 O or X ring chains, which may have an external width almost similar to the conventional 530.
Both chains have a distance between pins of 5/8" (pitch) to give the 5## prefix.
I have a 530 o ring chain, and I think it looks like a tank track! (won't be fitting it..)
Sprockets for the 250 are 15T front / 41T rear. (Compared with the CB400N which runs 16T/36T) some sellers don't know the 250/400 differences!
(If a custom 520 sprocket was cut from a 520 blank you would need two 1.5mm shim washers to fit it to the rear wheel...drifting off subject now...going for a cuppa)

My NC I have bought a 530 chain should be a 520 - it wont be fully original as I will put German bars on it, I could get a new chain, front and rear sprocket as a kit and the rear sprocket has the guard around it So not technically correct but will look correct - but the expert eyes on the forum will soon spot it when up close
