Rhino is about done so time to go back to the "bits" bin. Here we have a 1979 Matching numbers 400 in pristine complete condition, if you squint a bit. OK, quite a bit, in the dark, going past at 90..... oh, you get the idea.

Do you never take a break Steve? I'm just thinking about starting a similar project, 79 250 frame with a 400 motor. I am waiting for DVLA to produce a V5 before I start (been waiting 5 weeks). I can safely say you will be finished this and on to the next before I get going on mine.

While we are at it Pete, which is the more appropriate clock face ? Truth is, I think I can get one good set out of this shite. I have at least two working speedo's, and would you believe, I think one of those tachometer's will work. Not giving up 👍

Appropriate as in correct for 400 79?
If so, blue face, 110mph. (Sorry Pete, you may be sleeping and this could be urgent).

Can I ask how you separate these Duffer? Does the silver rim twist off? Anything to be wary of? 🍻

I wish. No, the silver rim is quite soft metal, so a little care with a flat screwdriver will gently lift it from the blue plastic. Perhaps use some pliers when it has lifted enough but remember, you are dealing with plastic and glass. In these temperatures, it would be best to leave it somewhere warm overnight, then have a go. Quit simple after that. Getting it back is just the reverse, but lay it on a soft surface. No point in scratching it after all that work. I use a light hammer to tap it back into place. Again.... it is glass 🤪
